ABOUT KTC
Through its full-time professional staff and statewide network of volunteers stretching from Paducah to Pikeville, Covington to Williamsburg and all points in between, the Kentucky Tourism Council (KTC) gives its members the partnerships they need to get their
fair share of Kentucky's $9.1 billion travel economy.
KTC Marketing Opportunties:
The Kentucky Tourism Council provides educational sessions featuring nationally and regionally respected speakers at its quarterly meetings, Tourism Development Symposium and Kentucky Tourism Industry Annual Conference. Through the Kentucky Tourism Professional Certificate Program, members gain a valuable edge in career advancement. The Kentucky Tourism Council offers its members an opportunity to receive professional credentials. By attending educational sessions, members can receive a Kentucky Tourism Professional Certificate or become an Advanced Tourism Management Professional.
KTC Members gain statewide media attention for area events through KTC's Top Ten Festivals & Events program. An impartial panel of experts select the "Top Ten" for each season. The winners receive statewide media attention and a listing in Kentucky Monthly. The KTC Meeting Planners Guide to Kentucky, also gives members the opportunity to market their meeting sites to meeting planners from across Kentucky as well as the Southeast and Midwest. Every KTC member has an Internet presence on the Council's highly visited web site www.tourky.com. In addition, members can promote their business or community in KTC's booth at one of the Kentucky State Fair's busiest locations and save thousands of dollars on advertising costs through KTC's annual media auction.
KTC Governmental Relations:
The Kentucky Tourism Council is the industry's advocate in Frankfort. A full-time staff and team of dedicated volunteers work on behalf of the membership to build sound working relationships and affect positive change. By providing a vital link to various departments of state government, the Council acts as a clearinghouse for important information on funding sources, technical assistance and other resources. The Council's legislative agent tracks important pieces of legislation and works to see that laws are made that work for Kentucky's tourism industry. Members also receive the most up-to-date reporting on legislative issues via the e-mail Legislative Update.
Member Discounts:
The KTC Member-to-Member Discount program is a great way to enjoy deep discounts at some of Kentucky's premier attractions, hotels and motor inns. It's a Win-Win deal but you have to be a member to participate!
