Marion County Country Ham Days
September 25 & 26, 2010
(always the last full weekend in September)

Marion County Country Ham Days, in downtown Lebanon, Kentucky, is a two-day event that was started by a few local businessmen in 1969 with 6 hams and a handful of visitors. Now it takes thousands of pounds of ham and hundreds of volunteers to serve the thousands of people attending the festival. Marion County Country Ham Days is filled with free activities for the young and old: Stage entertainment featuring rock & roll, country, bluegrass, and gospel music; The Pokey Pig 5K Race & FunRun; PIGasus Parade; Classic Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show; Antique Gas & Steam Engine & Tractor Exhibit; Carnival rides for the kiddies; just to mention a few! Stroll through the Arts & Crafts and Market Place booths. Stay and dance in the streets from 8:00 pm to midnight at the Country Ham Jam on Saturday night.

In Hog Heaven, a country ham breakfast is served each morning. Later try pinto beans and cornbread, ham & biscuit, pork chops, baked ham sandwiches, Polish sausage with green peppers and onions, rib-eye steaks, and much more. Come join the other thousands of people that enjoy Country Ham Days. You’ll be glad you did.

This family-oriented community festival has been selected as the best annual festival by the readers of Kentucky Living, selected as a Top Ten Fall Festival by Kentucky Tourism Council and a TOP 20 Fall Event in the southeastern United States by Southeast Tourism Society. In addition, Ham Days has been featured in USA Today Travel & Leisure Magazine, Mr. Foods Easy Cooking, National Trust Guide’s book Mainstreet Festivals-Traditional and Unique Events on America’s Main Streets, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Dixie Living section in an article by Jim Auchmutey, Tasting the South.
